Doing it all

Opening thought. If the Sox bring the championship home, it will be the second Chicago championship since 1917. Isn’t it time the Cubs held up their end?

Oh, and if you have a site, please leave the URL. I’d like to visit.

One of my earliest memories was my dad taking me outside one evening in 1959 to see the fireworks/aerial bombs going off in Comiskey Park (we could see them from our house at 67th & Oakley) when the White Sox last clinched an American League pennant & a berth in the World Series. I also remember the air-raid sirens being set off in celebration by then-fire commissioner Quinn & how that caused a lot of people to freak out because they thought we were about to get nuked by Russian missiles from Cuba. Only in Chicago. When I heard that they had won, it brought a little tear to my eye & I am so happy for all of the White Sox from years past (Nellie Fox, Jim Landis, Luis Aparicio, Al Lopez, Minnie Minoso, Moose Skowron, Pete Ward, **** Allen, Wilbur Wood, particularly Bill Veeck & so many more) to finally accomplish what the stinking !#@*&! Cubs haven’t been able to do for even longer despite all of the public relations BS about them. Long-live the curse of the Billy Goat! South-Side Hit-Men forever! I’m going to get a Sox cap during lunchtime & I’m sure that I will be able to wear it with pride because they will soon be World Series Champs! Go you White Sox!
